There are many things to see and do around the Toyosu Market
There are several places to visit in the Toyosu Market, including a tour, sushi and other gourmet foods, shopping, and more.
If you have come all this way, be sure to visit not only the inside of the market, but also the “Toyosu Gururi Park” outside!
Toyosu Gururi Park” is a large municipal park in Koto-ku, which opened in April 2018 (Heisei 30), covering an area of about 15.2 ha.
As the name suggests, it is set up to surround Toyosu Pier.
Toyosu Gururi Park is accessible right from Toyosu Market!
After finishing your tour of the Toyosu Market, head in the direction of Loop Route 2 before returning to Ichiba-mae Station.
As you proceed, you will see the entrance to Gururi Park.
You can see the Rainbow Bridge and the Fuji TV building!
The end of Toyosu Gururi Park and the Odaiba area are just a stone’s throw away.
You can see the Rainbow Bridge and the Fuji TV building in Odaiba. At night, the night view is beautiful!
A few people enjoying fishing here and there
Fishing is available at Toyosu Gururi Park. Except for some areas.
I walk through Gururi Park every day on my way to the Toyosu Market, and I often observe black sea bream, whitebait, sea bass, and other fish at my feet.
There are always a few people enjoying fishing here and there, but I have not seen many fish being caught.
Around autumn, we also observed schools of small fish like sardines swimming in the water.
It is very well footholded and accessible for fishing. (Unfortunately, there is no fishing tackle store nearby)
Waterfowl such as herons, gulls and ducks are often seen. Are they feeding? The ocean in Toyosu is surprisingly beautiful with little garbage.
Connected to the Toyosu Market Rooftop Greenery Plaza
Toyosu Gururi Park is connected to the rooftop greening plaza of Toyosu Market.
After relaxing at the rooftop greening plaza, it is possible to visit the Gururi Park.
Great place for running!
There are not many people, so you can run in comfort compared to popular running places such as the Imperial Palace.
Cycling or running while taking in the beautiful scenery of the bay area–it’s kind of fancy!
