To watch the tuna auction from the special viewing deck shown in the photo, you must apply in advance (by lottery).

Please note that even if you go to the market on the morning of the market without registering, you will not be able to observe the tuna auction on the special viewing deck.
No registration is required for the 2nd floor tour space.
You can visit other areas without registration.
The second floor of the Fisheries Wholesale Hall building is a tour space, and no application is required. Visitors can watch the tuna auction from above.
The space is open from 5:00 a.m. on market days.
It was quite difficult to go sightseeing in the old Tsukiji Market due to strict restrictions, so we are glad to see this kind of consideration.

How to apply for the Tuna Auction at the Toyosu Market
You can apply for a tuna auction tour online (Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market website) or by phone.
Please note that the deadline is surprisingly early (e.g., applications for a tour in December 2022 must be made by the first half of November 2022).
If you have applied online and won a prize, you will receive an email informing you of your selection.
You will need to present this e-mail on screen or print it out on the day of the event as well, so please save it.
Identification required on the day of visit
When applying for admission on the day of the tour, you will need to provide identification such as a driver’s license, insurance card, student ID card, or passport with your address written on it.
Only the person who applied for the tour and the person who entered his/her name as a companion at the time of application may visit.
The market has days off! Be aware of closed market days
The Toyosu Market is not open all year round, but is closed on certain days.
If you visit the Toyosu Market on a closed day, no one will be there and you will not be able to enter, so be sure to check before you visit.

Toyosu Market Tuna Auction Hours
Tuna auction visits at the Toyosu Market take place in shifts of about 10 minutes, starting at 5:30 a.m. and ending at 6:15 a.m. for those on the dedicated deck, for which an application is required.
If you choose to observe from the visitor aisle on the second floor of the Fisheries Wholesale Hall, where no application is required, you can take your time and observe as long as you like.
If it’s not too hard to get up early, you should go.
Are you interested in visiting the tuna auction at the Toyosu Market?
You won’t feel the “market-like, lively atmosphere of the Showa period” of the old Tsukiji Market, but you will be able to experience the extraordinary world of hundreds of giant tuna.
